DEFECTION:
TWO FEDERAL LAWMAKERS DUMP APC, DECAMP TO PDP
Two members of the House of Representatives elected on the
platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have resigned their membership
of the ruling party.
One of them also announced his defection to the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP.
The lawmakers, Babatunde Kolawale representing Akoko North/West
Federal Constituency in Ondo and Mukaila Kazzim representing Abeokuta
North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun State announced their
resignations in two separate letters to the green chambers on Wednesday.
Their letters were read on the floor of the house by the Speaker,
Yakubu Dogara.
While Kolawale, in his letter, announced that he was defecting to
the PDP, Kazzim, did not state the party he would join.
The lawmakers said they were decamping from the APC due to some
irreconcilable issues relating to the party primaries.
Kazzim said, “god-fatherism” played a vital role in the emergence
of candidates to represent the party in the 2019 general elections.
