Topic: Your Role as a Mother to Your Children! (4)
Dear Reader,
I welcome you to the concluding part of the topic, which I have been discussing since the beginning of the month.
Many mothers, today, have succeeded in raising godly children; so, you can also make it by relying solely on God’s grace, and rising to your responsibilities.
This week, as we round off these series, I’ll like to say to you that leaving footprints on the sands of time for your
children to follow is the very BEST role you can play as a mother to your children because children live by examples.
Demonstrating the virtues you want your children to imbibe is more powerful than caning or even teaching them. Your
examples are what stick with them, not the volume of words you speak. This is because, your points may be forgotten,
but your examples will remain with them forever.
Some mothers instruct their children not to make use of abusive words, but they
shout abusive words at their husbands and people who get on their nerves. They commit all manner of atrocities, and yet
teach the Word of God to their children.
Remember that an ounce of example is worth a ton of preaching. You may think
that they are too young to know what is happening, but they see the way you sit
with your friends gossiping; that is a bad example.
However, there is profit in training your child effectively. Expect your wages! This
may come in various ways such as monetary or otherwise. One of such wages is JOY.
When you play your role aright as a mother to your children, every memory of them will always bring joy to your heart.
The more you labour in bringing them up, the more reward you stand to receive.
Though the task of child-training often appears overwhelming, the good news is that God will not ask you to do what is impossible. Ruth Bell Graham once said,
“As a mother, my job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible”. As you accept your responsibility and raise up godly seeds
unto the Lord, you will have cause to rejoice in the future.
However, it is important to know that until you are born again, you can’t receive the help of God that will enable you to become a good example to your children.
To become born again, just say this simple prayer of faith: “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner.
Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting meninto Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are
now a child of God. He loves you and will
never leave you. Read your Bible daily,
obey God’s Word and seek Christian
fellowship (John 14:21).
Congratulations! You are now born again!
All-round rest and peace are guaranteed
